WE LOVE A LITTE GOOD TROUBLE
Good Tunes in the Library,

Welcomed by the earthy tones of Bamara Smith on didgeridoo, we kicked off our series of with Acopia in the library where an audience of just 30 people were bathed in a fever stream of curated lighting, sultry vocals, pensive synthesis and smouldering baselines. Performed and recorded live, Acopia gently washed the library in breathy whispers, lulling us into the sentimentality of past memories, while together we made new ones.
Acopia invites listeners to open their hearts and sink into their feelings. The Naarm/Melbourne based group, composed of Kate Durman (Purient), Lachlan McGeehan (Liluzu) and Morgan Wright, have crafted a collection of slow burn anthems that rest in a fever dream between trip hop, shoegaze, dream pop and downtempo. Their 2022 breakout album, ‘Chances’, saw them arranging experiences of love and loss into a set of songs that were once nostalgic, tender and restrained - lush, textural music to rest a heavy head and heart.

Thank you
