The Sunseeker was born out of a desire to create an authentic experience that could be shared with family and friends. We dreamt up a vision to honour the past, embrace the future and celebrate local community. What we have created is not only a beautiful place for travellers to rest their heads, but a true coming together of what makes this town so great – a place full to the brim with vibrant, inspiring and imaginative creative makers, artists and craftspeople.
While The Sunseeker celebrates our love for design and local creatives, we also challeneged ourselves to revitalise the hotel in the most sustainable and conscious way we could. For us, it’s a journey about being better, not perfect and we kindly ask our guests to come with us on the journey, even on holidays.

Jess and Dave are the owners, designers, creative directors and visionaries behind The Sunseeker. With a string of personal creative developments behind them and following a conscious decision to move their little family away from their city lives a few years back, they found themselves with the time and space to consider their next chapter. They were ready to deep-dive into a creative endeavour - one that would allow them to reflect the heartbeat and rhythm of a community that had given them so much. Once they made the call, a few quiet conversations with friends lead them on a string of treasure hunts for local gems that could help them bring their vision to life. A team of humble warriors who dedicated so much passion, love and creativity into The Sunseeker. This dynamic dream team worked together seamlessly and with great synergy—weaving and integrating various roles and tasks throughout the project. And always with great passion and heaps of laughs.
Local sustainable building experts, Balanced Earth are a progressive team of builders and designers. Specialising in hempcrete and reclaimed hardwood, they brought creative solutions to every part the project, such as hempcrete insulation in our bungalows.
Tory is The Sunseeker’s best friend. Our creative consultant, connector, creator, motivator, do-er. If you don’t know her, you should. There’s not much at The Sunseeker that she hasn’t touched or been consulted on. Tory has interluded her life by teaching English to the Dalai Lama’s Monks, working as an artist at an AIDS orphanage in Kenya, curated Mongolia’s first travelling Buddhist film festival, was left hand to Steve Pav of Modular Records fame, had an art piece in London’s largest outdoor art show (the piece sold at Sotheby’s for 20K pounds with all $ donated to saving wildlife corridors in Asia), was the Assistant General Manager Splendour in the Grass and Co-Curator of Splendour in the Craft. She works as an artist, art director, producer and stylist for many national and international ad campaigns. She recently founded Dance Card, which is a Creative Consultancy business for brands and humans. But above all she is a mother to Marlowe and the wife of Andy Mac.
Muse Muse is an Australian based creative branding and editorial studio bringing beautiful design, woven with purposed and story. Their approach to creative design blends their admiration of the written word with the beauty found in visual play. The day we met Lila was the day the whole project changed trajectory and catapulted us into an atmosphere of fun, playful, creative and confident design. Lila brought our entire vision to life in a branding document we’d only ever dreamed was possible. But Lila and her incredible team have given the brand so many incarnations beyond that day – evolving and developing always, never settling.
Locky and his team are delightful. Delightful and handsome! Bringing over 10 years of landscape architecture and building experience, Locky’s vision and unique perception of spaces enhanced, developed and ‘made thrive’ the green heart of The Sunseeker.
